California Attorney General Rob Bonta has also taken legal action against tech behemoths like Google, resulting in a $700 million settlement over antitrust violations.

For many, the Snapchat settlement serves as a wake-up call, highlighting the urgent need for tech companies to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives from the ground up. As part of the agreement, Snap Inc. must hire an independent consultant to advise on its pay and promotion policies, as well as undergo a third-party audit of its compliance with sexual harassment, retaliation, and discrimination protocols.
